Thermal Chimney Equipped Audio Speaker Cabinet |
A loudspeaker
cabinet having a tubular thermal chimney extending through the cabinet.
As the transducer heats the air inside the cabinet, the heat is absorbed
by the chimney and transferred to a column of air inside the chimney.
The heated air column rises, creating a passive convection airflow up
and out the chimney, while drawing cooler air in the bottom of the
chimney. The tubular chimney isolates the air inside the chimney from
the air inside the cabinet, permitting excellent self‑regulated cooling
of the air inside a cabinet. |
